Novodevichy Convent
Novodevichy Convent, further known as Bogoroditse-Smolensky Monastry, is probably the best-known cloister ( covered walk, open gallery, or unmask arcade )of Moscow. The Convent is placed in the south-western object of the far-reaching town of Moscow. The Convent territory is fenced in within walls and reined in by a park, which forms the buffer zone. The park is tentative by the urban fabric of the city on the north and east sides. On the west side, it is limited by the Moscow River, and on the south side there is an urban freeway. The buildings are restrained by a fancy masonry wall with 12 towers. The entrances are from the north (town side) and the south. The sketch of the convent territory is an irregular rectangle stretching from the west to east.Unlike distinct Moscow cloisters, it has remained substantially intact considering the 17th century. In 2004, it was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site (area which has been evidently recognized by the UN).
Moscow Zoo
The Moscow Zoo is a 21.5-hectare (53-acre) zoo founded in 1864 by professor-biologists, K.F. Rulje , S.A. Usov and A.P. Bogdanov, from the Moscow State University. In 1919, the zoo was nationalized. In 1922, the ownership was departed to the city of Moscow and has remained under Moscow's control ever since.The zoo had an area of 10 hectares (25 acres) when it first invented, with 286 animals. In 1926, the zoo was expanded to adjacent lands, increasing the area to 18 hectares (44 acres). The zoo's original buildings were wooden, built in the aged Russian style with intricated wood trims.
later beautiful exhibits were opened including a puddle aquarium, an aviary, a creatures of the night parade, a sea lion exhibit and a provision aimed at children. Waterfalls and streams were added overall to gave all one got the zoo a more ingrained feeling.
The Moscow zoo has around 6500 animals representing approximately 1000 species and covers an area of about 21.5 hectares (53 acres) The zoo studies animal's practice, feeding and reproduction, and breeds distinctive endangered species.
