Marina Beach

Marina Beach is a natural urban beach in the city of Chennai, India, along the Bay of Bengal. The beach runs from alongside Fort St. George (fortress in India, founded in 1644) in the north to Foreshore Estate  in the south ( primary sites in the city), a distance of 6.45 km (4.01 mi),making it the longest natural urban beach in the country and one of the world's longest beach ranking mutually 1. The Marina is primarily sandy, unlike the short, rocky formations that derive up the Juhu Beach in Mumbai. The average width of the beach is 300 m (980 ft) and the width at the widest stretch is 437 m (1,434 ft). Bathing and swimming at the Marina Beach are legally reserved because of the dangers, as the undercurrent is very turbulent. It is one of the most crowded beaches in the country and attracts about 30,000 visitors a day during weekdays and 50,000 visitors a day around the weekends and on holidays. During summer months, approximately 15,000 to 20,000 people visit the beach daily.





Kalakshetra Arts Academy

Kalakshetra Foundation, formerly simply Kalakshetra, is an arts and cultural academy dedicated to the preservation of traditional values in Indian art and crafts, particularly in the field of Bharatanatyam dance ( major genre of Indian classical dance )  and Gandharvaveda music (Sanskrit Hindu text on the performing arts). Based in Chennai, India, the academy was founded in January 1936 by Rukmini Devi Arundale ( an Indian theosophist, dancer and choreographer of the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, and an activist for animal rights and welfare). Under Arundale's guidance, the institution achieved national and international establishment for its incredible style and perfectionism. In 1962, Kalakshetra tousled to a dressy campus in Besant Nagar (one of Chennai's neighborhoods, named trailing the noted lady theosophist Annie Besant), Chennai, occupying 40 hectares (99 acres) of land.
In January 1994, an Act of the Parliament of India recognized the Kalakshetra Foundation as an "Institute of National Importance."





 Cholamandal Artists' Village

Cholamandal Artists' Village, established in 1966, is the largest artists' commune in India. Its artists are credited for the Madras Movement of Art (1950's–1980's), which brought modernism to art in South India. Their employment is chiefly recognized as several of the marvelous art produced in postwar India and is shown regularly in galleries across the country. Several Cholamandal artists have furthermore shown in Europe, the America and South America.
By the 1970's, the village became self-sufficient and grew into a well known of the virtually important meeting places for international artists in India. Today, it is such of the few artist-driven movements in India. Four decades on, it is such of the few artists' colonies in the presence to survive successfully and its foundation remains one of the "10 biggest art moments" in India.





The Anna Centenary Library

The Anna Centenary Library (ACL) is an established state library of the Government of Tamil Nadu (the governing restraint for the Indian state of Tamil land). It is situated at Kotturpuram, Chennai. It is built at a charge of ₹172 crores (₹1,720 million). It is named after a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, C. N. Annadurai. It was happened upon by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi
The Anna Centenary is a well known of the largest libraries in Asia.  Madras Crocodile Bank

The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology (MCBT) is a reptile zoo and herpetology(branch of zoology) research station, situated in  city of Chennai,  India. The center is both a registered trust and a recognized zoo under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and is India's leading institution for herpeto faunal preservation, probe and education. The bank is the first crocodile rich center in Asia and comes under the purview of the Central Zoo Authority, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.It was established mutually the aim of saving three Indian endangered species of crocodile—the marsh or mugger crocodile, the saltwater crocodile, and the gharial, which at the time of founding of the trust were all nearing extinction.
